About the Director
Ani Rogers was raised in St. George Utah, coming up through the Dixie cone-site and graduated from Dixie High School. She continued her education at Dixie State, Southern Utah University and Brigham Young University where she graduated with a B.A. in Theatre Arts Studies. Ani later earned her teaching certification and completed an additional ESL endorsement from Utah Valley University and is currently earning her Masters degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Houston.
Ani has taught at Dixie Middle School, Dixon Middle School, Pine View High School and is now in her tenth year teaching at Desert Hills High School. She has directed and choreographed many one-act shows, theatre reviews and musicals including the first high school premier performance of Huebener, Les Miserables and Elton John's Aida. Ani also has been hired to direct for local community theatre companies including St. George Musical Theater's opening production of The Sound of Music after spending nearly five years in the dark.
Amid all of the teaching and directing responsibilities that keep her busy, Ani continues to develop her own art and craft by participating in workshops across the country, theatre conferences and local theatre projects whenever she gets the chance. Nothing could bring Ani more satisfaction than to be working in this medium, "giving back" to the community that helped develop her character, ideals and love of theatre.
